Fieldwork and work experience with legal aid, humanitarian, and public health organizations. Specific research focus on the disabling impact of environmental toxins on refugees and immigrants confined to carceral spaces, including detention centers and refugee camps, the legal structures that shape access to dignified health care, and avenues for legal remedy. Skills include: case law and statutory research; literature reviews across the social sciences, law, and public health; qualitative analysis (ethnography, interviews, organizational/network analysis, discourse analysis); theoretical innovation and application; experience with advocacy and funding mechanisms at the global and in-country levels; 9+ years of research project management (from conception to implementation stages), and management of philanthropic-funded research grant projects. Research experience of multilateral, international, and grassroots aid organizations supporting immigrant and refugee communities in the U.S., Central/Eastern Europe, and the Mediterranean. Fluent in German, with a working knowledge of Spanish and French. Doctoral research and M.A. in Comparative Politics from Johns Hopkins University, and B.A. in Political Science and German Studies from The George Washington University.
