During the initial months of my internship, I collected data for a Gamification Experiment that looked at how personalities can affect our learning abilities. I was the lead intern for this data collection and had to set up participants in EEG and ICG wear, monitor the participant as they ran through the experiment, and take any notes throughout the experiment. After collecting data for over 80 participants, I scored the ICG data using a program called MEAP and had to hand label heartbeats, remove any noise from the data, and analyze the data.

At this internship, I was exposed to the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program and the Equal Opportunity (EO) program as an Army ROTC cadet. While working here, I was able to understand how the Army places importance on the safety and the environment for the average Army Soldier. I was able to see real life scenarios of SHARP and EO complaints, and learn the process a commander undergoes to ensure safety, as well as esprit de corps within their battalion. With this internship, I also interacted with Army Officers and NCO's and was able to see live missile launches, fire different weapons, and learn about the Army Test and Evaluation Command as a whole.

As an Army ROTC intern, I worked under Dr. Michelle Vanni and used sentiment analysis to understand how tweets can be used to help predict outcomes of important political events. For my specific research, I used the program LIWC and analyzed tweets from the 2016 Colombia Peace Referendum and randomly scored tweets to see if Colombia could've predicted the outcome of the popular "No" vote.
