Based in Los Angeles, Meaghan Roddy is an independent curator and market consultant with over two decades of experience working in 20th and 21st century Design and Decorative Arts auctions. In addition to spearheading many collection sales at auction in New York and London, Meaghan has been instrumental in several record-breaking results at auction and has been a strong advocate for introducing new designers and ceramists to primary and secondary market audiences and establishing international markets for them.In 2022, Meaghan spearheaded the collaboration with influential online design magazine Sight Unseen to outfit the new Los Angeles offices and galleries of Phillips with works by California-based contemporary designers, introducing a new selling platform to Phillips and a new partnership for both companies. Meaghan created and co-produced a number of social media initiatives for Phillips, sourcing studio tours, interviews, and exclusive content from leading international artists and designers as well as curators at major institutions. She has spoken frequently on the topic of craft on the secondary market, including as a lecturer at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and as a panelist at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the San Francisco Fall Art & Antiques Show, and Design Miami/, and for publications including Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, The Art Newspaper, and The Financial Times. Meaghan was a 2017 Curatorial Fellow for The Center for Craft in Asheville, North Carolina, and is the catalogue co-author and co-curator of the exhibition "The Good Making of Good Things: Craft Horizons Magazine 1941-1979," which traveled nationally from 2017 to 2019. She is the President of the Board of Directors for the Center for Craft, where she has served since 2021, and has also been a member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Decorative Arts and Design Acquisitions Committee since 2018.
