It is with immense joy that I announce my five-year appointment to the newly formed Cannabis Social Equity Fund Advisory Board. I offer deep gratitude to (former) Governor Baker, Treasurer Goldberg, and Attorney General (now Governor) Maura Healey. It is an honor to have this opportunity to contribute to the establishment of an equitable cannabis industry in Massachusetts.As a contributing member, I commit to upholding the three tenets of the Social Equity Trust Fund: providing necessary financial support to marginalized communities disproportionately affected by the war on drugs; creating equal opportunities for small business owners who lack funding and resources and; ushering crucial inclusivity and diversity insights to a budding industry rooted in a long history of disenfranchisement and inequality. With years of experience in Cannabis, I am humbled by the confidence our State leaders see in myself and my fellow Board members to make lasting and effective change in the lives of Massachusetts constituents and the cannabis industry. I also want to express my appreciation to the many others who offered recommendations and kind words on my behalf.
