Primary role in development of a transportation equity program that distributed vouchers for bicycle purchases to income-qualified Evanston residents. Drafted project documents and budget, collaborated with senior staff to strengthen interdepartmental coordination, facilitated stakeholder engagement and outreach.

Created a comprehensive educational resource for MA-specific food justice advocacy. Researched historical and current developments in food systems policy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, engaged volunteer stakeholders in project development through focus group and informal discussion, and issued policy priority recommendations.

Dr. Franz Geiger’s team is interested in the effect of supplemental, hands-on science education for elementary- and middle-school students, particularly those who do not otherwise have access to this kind of learning. In my second year working with them, I was hired to repackage our 2022 findings at a middle-school level and teach students at a local camp for Black 5th-8th grade boys in Evanston. I worked with one colleague to develop and present a week-long science curriculum with a particular focus on electrochemistry. I wrote lesson plans and performed demos addressing topics like atomic structure, electrical circuits, and clean energy.

The Sunrise Movement is a national, youth-led network of local Hubs dedicated to climate justice. E-Town Sunrise, Evanston’s Hub, focuses mostly on local issues within the school district and municipal government.As Hub Coordinator, I was in charge of project management, intra-organization coordination, public-facing leadership, and general administrative work. In this role, I sat on the City of Evanston's Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee, School District 202's Climate Curriculum Committee, and helped revitalize the D202 Sustainability Committee to craft a comprehensive sustainability policy. I was also the lead organizer of the 2023 Climate Justice Conference Planning Committee and was involved in convening efforts to prioritize environmental justice in the building of Evanston's 5th Ward school.

My primary responsibility in this role was managing communication and partnerships with other organizations, political leaders, and school administrators. I facilitated work with our City Council, public advocacy leaders, and local media for participation in and coverage of E-Town Sunrise-hosted events. I organized peers to speak at School Board and City Council meetings, school walkouts, and public demonstrations in service of climate justice. Accomplishments included School District 202’s hiring of a Sustainability Coordinator and the City of Evanston’s Resolution to Declare a Climate Emergency I also led the Planning Committee and facilitation of the 2022 ETHS Climate Justice Conference.

Dr. Franz Geiger and his graduate students have been researching current generation via ionic flow on metal oxide nanolayers for several years, and have published initial findings. On a research grant, he hired three high school students to emulate the tests conducted during his research in our own lab. We operated under minimal supervision from chemistry teacher Terry Gatchell in the ETHS Research Center.In this role, I replicated data generated by Dr. Geiger and graduate students, successfully generating enough current to power a small LED, the benchmark set by Geiger et al; engineered circuitry, flow cells, a wave generator, our nanofilm array, and other equipment; investigated effects of variables like incident angle, salinity, and metal surface. We also began the process of developing exportable, accessible science education for younger students, and plan to put this into action in summer 2023.

As an intern at Common Cause, I participated in political and advocacy leadership training sessions, produced and edited social media content for the Voting & Elections Team, wrote and had published multiple Letters to the Editor (including in the Chicago Tribune), and facilitated a social media day of action as part of a soft launch for campaign finance reform in Evanston.
