As Business Development Manager for eLEAF I am coordinating all project acquisition activities, from setting up international project consortia, to proposal writing, budgeting, contract negotiation and contract management. I am in contact with both funding organizations as well as potential customers of our services. I am involved in our operational projects as escalation point for eLEAF project managers whenever issues arise.I am part of eLEAFs management team, setting company vision and steering actions towards that. Together with our business line managers, I develop business development strategy and prioritize action to reach the goals set. I set up partnership agreements with our Value Adding Partners (VAPs) abroad. eLEAF BV is a data- and consultancy company that specializes in the interpretation of satellite images for sustainable agriculture and water management. Our core expertise is that we can see from space how much biomass is growing on any 10x10m square on the earth surface, and how much water was consumed to do get to that biomass. This feeds into applications that support farmers and water managers worldwide, and provides guidance on sustainability reporting in the agricultural value chain.

Traveled and lived in New England, United States for 6 months. Primarily based in Boston MA, where I volunteered for the American Red Cross.

• Business Development for the South East Asia region covering Indonesia, Lao PDR, Cambodia and Vietnam which included inter-departmental coordination and prioritization of upcoming business opportunities on the international donor market, (re)establish relationships with possible future local partners and representatives of international donor institutions including Asian Development Bank, European Union and AusAid • Project manager for several projects in Indonesia and Vietnam, including a 10 million Euro project "Decentralized Irrigation System Improvement Project", implemented in 14 irrigation schemes throughout Eastern Indonesia (JICA funded). Successfully coordinated the proposal preparations in Indonesia with 7 consortium partners, Regular backstopping visits to Jakarta to assist the Team Leader with client relations, contract addenda, reporting.• Bid manager for donor funded projects (Asian Development Bank, World Bank, JICA, European Union, DGIS) coordinating the full tendering process, from pre-qualification stage, to bidding stage and project start-up. This includes proposal budgeting, preparation of consortium agreements, coordination of all proposal inputs and responsible for delivering the end product

Juba, South Sudan

The assignment consisted of 3 short missions to Juba, South Sudan. The Basic Services Fund provides funds for Sudanese NGOs to support the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) to expand health, education and water and sanitation services throughout South Sudan. The fund managed by BMB Mott MacDonald was over 40 million British Pounds. Activities included:• Close coordination with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Water Resources of South Sudan to set GOSS priorities in each sector• In close coordination with DFID, developed NGO application guidelines to be used in the call for proposals which incorporated the GOSS priorities • Develop selection criteria, evaluate and rank concept notes and proposals received together with GOSS representatives• Present the recommendations for fund recipients to the different line ministries, and facilitate a final selection of recipients by GOSS

Dili, East-Timor

Stationed in Dili, East-Timor, for the full term, I worked as AE on the 'Human Security in Rural Timor Leste' project. The project was a broad Rural Development demonstration project of the Government of Timor-Leste implemented by United Nations Dept of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) to strengthen community management of water and renewable energy services in three rural sub-districts. Achievements include: • 20 Water User Groups were formed and trained during the pilot phase and now the adapted participatory process forms the basis for a new national WUG policy.• Facilitated a participatory planning process for the planning, design and construction of drinking water supply systems in 4 rural communities. 4 new systems were built and another 7 rehabilitated.• Developed training on hygiene practices and subsequently piloted the material by training more than 145 teachers and village leaders in over 15 villages.• Developed a training method to build the capacity of local village councils in developing strategic development plans for their community. The method included participatory problem tree analysis, prioritization, the writing of a feasible work plan and the independent realisation of the plans by the community.• Actively monitored the programme progress of our partner NGOs responsible for direct field implementation and coordinated the project implementation with national, regional and local government, partner NGO’s, other development organisations and recipient communities.
