Environmental Specialist
CurrentOversee the preparation, submission, maintenance of an overall master register of work scopes, consents, licenses, permits, notifications, and approvals required for Capital and Operating Projects;Develop, monitor and report environmental and regulatory compliance performance metrics, including all leading and lagging indicators;Maintain strong interfaces and working relationships internally and with regulatory approval authorities, including attending internal and external meetings as necessary to maintain coordination and tracking of regulatory compliance requirements;Provide expertise with remediation and/or of historic contaminated sites, which include removal of lead, asbestos, PCBs and contaminated materials;Provide technical guidance and training to team members on a wide range of environmental and regulatory matters;Assists in the development of processes and procedures in conjunction with designated facility/ line of business personnel to facilitate development, implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems consistent with the ISO 14001 standard, or similar standard adopted by NL Hydro;Assists with audits and inspects the Corporation's facilities to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, guidelines, and standards;Assist with the implementation of activities prescribed in the EMS, including the Environmental Protection Plans, Waste Management Plans, Regulatory Compliance Plans, Spill Response Plans and Rehabilitation Plans.
