About Mohamed Amine Ben Ammar

-- Shaping Tomorrow's Technology: The Story of a Young Developer ---I am an embedded systems engineer with a degree from Institut Supérieur de Études Technologiques in Mahdia. My journey into embedded systems is fueled by curiosity and a commitment to turning ideas into intelligent realities.I have always been interested in how IT systems work. I also enjoyed developing robots and embedded systems with new technologies. That's why I improved my knowledge and experience to become proficient in C/C++ and Python programming. My specialty is designing and implementing embedded software for a variety of applications. From firmware development to real-time systems, through microcontroller programming and object-oriented programming. My most recent experience was working as a student intern at ASTRE Engineering. I designed and built an intelligent self-navigating security robot using Python and C++ with Ubuntu on a Raspberry Pi. I also have experience implementing autonomous navigation using ROS, shell scripting, and Cmake, which I gained from a previous internship at Enova Robotics.Away from studies, I thrive in many projects, from the student platform, using C# and MySQL, to a smart face detector and self-driving car in Python. My GitHub repository also shows mini Arduino projects, including a moisture detector, a smoke detector, and a line follower robot. I treat every project as an opportunity to solve problems and innovate, and a passion for learning and continuous improvement drives me.My technical skills are complemented by strong communication and teamwork abilities, developed through my involvement in numerous clubs, social and volunteer organizations. I was president of the Robotics Club, where we organized and participated in competitions and workshops on robotics, IoT and cybersecurity. I actively contribute ideas, embrace diverse perspectives, and enjoy being part of a group effort to bring visions to life. I am excited to develop my career in embedded software development and contribute to innovative and smart solutions that can improve people's lives.I am always happy to collaborate, exchange ideas, and explore innovative software and hardware technologies.I am always open to conversation and opportunities. If you are interested you can contact me.

This is my final year project in which I designed and developed an intelligent security robot with self-navigation. I tried to make the autonomous surveillance robot as efficient as possible, to replace all or most of the tasks performed by a human supervisor, and to save effort, time, and money. the robot navigates and at the same time searches for strangers in its environment. First, it navigates by detecting all the obstacles in its pattern. Then I implemented an efficient and fast person detection system that works in real-time, with an alarm system to alert the user in the robot's environment. I also designed a program to control and visualize the robot using a device such as a smartphone or a computer connected to an internet network. This makes it possible to observe and control the robot in real-time at any time. For the hardware, I used Raspberry Pi 4, Arduino Uno, Rpi Camera 2, ultrasonic sensors, servo motors, a buzzer, motors with H-bridge, batteries, an LDR sensor, and LEDs. For development tools, I used Fritzing for hardware concept, Solidworks for mechanical design, Arduino IDE for development in Arduino, Ms. Visual Studio, Putty, and VNC viewer for development in Raspberry with Ubuntu Linux as an operating system. The main programming language was Python3 with RPi.GPIO, Numpy, Imutils, Flask, Open CV, and smtplib as the main Python libraries. I also used C++ for Arduino programming, Java Script, HTML, and CSS for the web application.
  • Enova Robotics
    Student Intern
    Enova Robotics Aug 2021 - Sep 2021
    Sousse, Tunisia
This internship aims to implement the Enova Robotics test robot with autonomous navigation. the system is programmed with Python, C++, and XML, using MakeFile and Cmake compilers in ROS Noetic, and Ubuntu Linux. the system works in 3 main steps:1. Setting up the environment: - upload the robot model and the field for the test to Gazebo- run the keyboard teleoperation node to control the robot in the Gazebo simulation2. Slam simulation:- run the Slam Simulation with the gmapping package in RViz in parallel with Gazebo- move the robot around so the robot can detect every obstacle in the field with its Lidar sensor.- when the test field is all shown in RViz download the maps into YAML file3. Start the autonomous navigation- run the navigation package with the map - choose the destination of the robot in RViz so the robot will move to that destination while taking the closest path possible and avoiding obstacles. This internship was a great opportunity to learn ROS and familiarize myself with its nodes, topics, and services. it was also my first experience with XML files, MakeFile, and CMake compilers.
