I was hired by Johnson and Johnson and placed at Global Pharmaceutical Supply Group (GPSG), an operating company within their pharmaceutical sector. While I quickly realized I wouldn't be pursuing a career in the field of financial accounting, I enjoyed the wealth of experiences I had during my eight months. Viewed by my peers as a leader, I was selected and served as East Coast President for the intra-company affinity group known as the Intern Co-op Association. I organized developmental and networking events for college students employed across JNJ's operating companies. It was at one of these events, "Backpack to Briefcase," that I first met a medical device rep and discovered my future career. My manager extended me beyond my initial five-month term to work throughout the summer. He tasked me with conducting our Q1/Q2 Sarbanes-Oxley manual testing and awarded me an Intern to manage. Together, we completed 32% of the operating companies' home office testing- exceeding his expectations. It was humbling and validating to be a people manager at such a young age.
