Has significant knowledge of treating PEN Plus conditions in Malawi including diabetes, sickle cell disease, chronic heart failure and other advanced NCDs. Responsible for organizing and mentoring PEN Plus trainees at the Neno aNCD clinics, a center of excellence. Conducting didactic sessions, providing in clinic and in hospital mentorship and leading community programs such as active case finding, home visits and training community staff. Has experience at bed side echocardiogram to be able to teach trainees. Expected to travel to new PEN Plus clinics to help with development, mentorship and ongoing collaboration. Help with managerial tasks related to the PIH NCD grants and help with MOH accompaniment in expansion of PEN Plus and NCD services.Responsibilities and Duties:•Demonstrating advanced clinical skills in management of complex NCD cases. These will include skills in history, examination, and diagnosis, advanced clinical management and advanced diagnostics like cardiac echo, USS and ECGS among others.•Working with the Neno NCD Clinical Officers to provide PEN Plus care in the Neno Advanced NCD Clinics •Working hand-in-hand with MOH staff to provide clinical care and implement NCD programming•Organize and run/facilitate training and mentorship sessions for PEN Plus trainees at Neno aNCD clinics•Train PEN Plus trainees in beside echocardiogram performance and interpretation•Travel to PEN Plus implementing districts to help with program development and in clinic mentorship•Travel to meet with NCD team and MOH and to attend national meetings•Assisting in budgeting, program planning and general management for UNICEF grant•Taking regular evening and weekend calls at Neno District Hospital•Participating in PEN Plus/ NCDs related research work•Producing monthly reports•Any other duties assigned from time to time Show less
