I am a GC and CLO of an AI company that focuses on explainable AI. In my nearly two decades of practicing tech law and serving on tech company boards, I have worked closely with C-Suite members, primarily advising the CEO, built out a legal department from the ground up, successfully advised business, product and engineering teams, and negotiated 100+ SaaS agreements and 200+ NDAs. I led 2 funding rounds and secured venture debt financing for Howso, grew Uber’s IP legal department from 3 to 12 attorneys, and led Google’s Geo business IP portfolio growth for Maps, Navigation, Street View, Google Earth, and Captcha. My expertise in AI, VR, intellectual property, data privacy, M&A, and funding diligence have helped drive results for organizations at the complex intersection of law, technology, and innovation. As an experienced technical leader, I also hold a PhD in Computer Science from UNC Chapel Hill where my research focused on virtual reality. I previously worked as an engineer for over a decade, served as a CTO and engineering director, and held research positions at Stanford University, UNC, Kodak, the Swiss Government, and the Don Gnocchi Hospital in Milan.Outside of work, I am an avid college basketball fan, a former collegiate rower, and I have completed 10 triathlons, and numerous road and trail races.JD, Stanford University Law SchoolPhD, Computer Science, University of North CarolinaBSE, Computer Engineering, Purdue University
