Meenal has over 20 years' experience in the social impact sector, tackling issues such as modern slavery, human rights violations, access to education, violence against women and girls (VAWG) and poverty.Through her work as a local councillor (Hertsmere Borough Council) and as Founder and Director of Shiva Foundation (anti-slavery organisation) Meenal has designed and implemented sustainable solutions to human rights issues and has built policy and advocacy tools which have been used to affect change in business and local government.More recently, Meenal advised the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire on fairness and legitimacy in the Criminal Justice System, and over the past few years she has been working with organisations and leaders in India to empower women and girls working in red light districts in Mumbai and Delhi. She is also a Strategic Advisor to a boutique London Hotel group on Purpose and Sustainability and Vice-Chair of the 8.7 Commonwealth Network. Through cross-sectoral working, collaboration, active listening and strong value-based leadership, Meenal is committed to keep serving marginalised and vulnerable individuals and communities.
