• Built Small Group dashboard, which included financials, enrollment and claims reporting, to provide senior leadership insights into the performance of this profitable segment. This involved writing SQL queries to fuel Tableau dashboards to provide this information within two months of project start. Dashboards led to enterprise-wide project to revamp small group offerings after leadership identified opportunities to grow business in small group segment.• Supported Small Group product rationalization by providing timely insights and building new reporting and analytics. This involved building ETL pipeline using Python scripts to consolidate hundreds of new sales and terminations datasets from various vendors to provide a comprehensive view on acquisition and loss within small group segment, building a product crosswalk using an ETL tool to help stakeholders identify what plans were selling and what plans are contributing the most to profitability, merging internal benefit package data with new sales and terminations reporting and enrollment files in Tableau Prep to identify plan performance in terms of new sales, terminations, enrollment trends and profitability. Also built Tableau dashboards to help product management, sales, underwriting & actuarial, and marketing teams formulate strategy on what plans to offer. Data was used to launch a brand new product portfolio and pricing model for launch in 2021.• Built Tableau dashboard with data from internal and external data sources to identify how Delta Dental networks stack up against competitors’ and where the network should be grown to foster more growth. Using SQL and Tableau analysis, identified what providers are being paid the most on a per member per month basis to help the business renegotiate proper contracts with high-cost providers. This analysis provided marketing and sales teams with information to use regarding competitors’ networks as part of sales process.
