An experienced professional, social entrepreneur and community volunteer with experience in technology, media, open data, citizen engagement and social change.I like facilitating connections, both between individuals and between people and information. This brought me to the civic media space and social entrepreneurship, where I believe real change happens when individuals and community groups are empowered to solve their own problems. I co-founded Citizen Matters, an award-winning civic media platform and Open City, an urban data platform (opencity.in). My work has helped address the lack of open and accessible media; it serves the information needs of urban citizens and builds their capacity to solve local problems and bring about civic transformation.In 2016, I was selected as an Ashoka Fellow for my work building open knowledge platforms that allow citizens to collaborate and improve their cities. As ICFJ Knight Fellow, 2017, I supported media newsrooms with innovation and skill development.
