Lalpir Thermal Power Plant (installed capacity: 730 MW) operates on a regenerative reheat Rankine cycle, featuring two steam turbines and two 1200T/h forced circulation radiant reheat type (MB-FRR) boilers.– Steam Turbine Overhauling: Conducted major overhauling of 365 MW Mitsubishi steam turbine (MHI TC2F-40.5)– Circulating Water Pump: Performed complete overhauling of vertical shaft, mixed flow, circulating water pump having flow rate of 17,500 m³/h including axial float and clearance measurement along with alignment of pump shaft– Boiler Feed Water Pump: Overhauled the 6-stage boiler feed pump, make: Weir Pumps, having discharge pressure 220.2 kg/cm². Checked journal and thrust bearings’ condition using NDT (DPT), adjusted the axial float of pump and performed rim and face coupling alignment– BFP Booster Pump: Overhauled the double suction-single discharge boiler feed water booster pump. Replaced wear rings, checked shaft for run-out and adjusted axial float of pump and checked clearances of fixed and floating end bearings– Cooling Tower Gear Box: Overhauled the cooling tower gear box, including high, intermediate and low speed shafts run-out, inspection of gears’ surface, maintained clearances between HSS, ISS, LSS shafts as per OEM, and checked backlash using dial indicator– Lube Oil Analysis: Performed lube oil analysis on Cooling Tower lube oil for effective, reliable and cost saving maintenance– Root Cause Analysis & MOC: Rectified the reoccurring issues at BOP area including identification of root cause, preparation of MOC.– Vibration Analysis & Proactive Maintenance: Performed condition monitoring of turbomachines using vibration analysis through CSI-2140.– Hands-on experience: Gained hands-on expertise in welding, grinding, and cutting, adhering to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and safety protocols to ensure precision and compliance in fabrication tasks
