When I was a first-year student, I had a project: to make a small solar-powered car that showcased the energy conversion and its effective application. As it was a custom car, we had to search for every part we needed (from Tyres, chassis, electrical wires, to the solar panel), which was harder than assembling the car itself. That sparked a curiosity in my mind: How do the big companies manage this process? The cost we incurred by travelling to find the right part was more than what the parts actually cost. So how do the big manufacturers achieve such efficiency and scale that allow them to produce thousands of products in one day in one facility site alone? Not aware of the technical jargons at that time, I was drawn to find answers to these questions, which led me to Industrial Engineering.Fast forward a few years, I am an Industrial Engineer who is interested in the fields of Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Business Analytics, and Industrial Engineering itself.I am a recent graduate and have over two years of experience in the industry, where I have worked on various projects involving inventory management, logistics, quality management, process mapping, and more. These skills have enabled me to improve the efficiency, reliability, and profitability of our industrial operations, supply chain, and business processes. I have also applied lean manufacturing and quality control techniques to reduce waste and increase production efficiency.But don’t just take my word for it.
