'Often I say to myself, if not me, then someone better than me will do it for sure'. Thinking of him or her as another wonderful soul, it gives me courage to rethink, analyse it again, retry and attempt it again, until I am done. Often in my life, I had these recursive self-motivating thoughts that led me to achieve things that I can not even imagine of. Again, this pushes me back in time to think of myself as of today. It makes me feel satisfied, seeing myself in current shape, but at the same time, it makes me more thirsty, to do more. I keep on trying.I am expert of nothing, but I have never failed to perform any assigned task. That's my record. Formally, I am Dr. Umar Shafiq, a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the highest ranked Engineering University in South Korea, KAIST, after completing my Masters in Electronic Engg. degree from University of Surrey, UK, with distinction, and Bachelor of Electronic Engg. from COMSATS, Pakistan, winning an Institute Gold Medal award.My main areas of technical engagements have been Spacecraft Systems Engineering and Spacecraft Attitude & Orbit Control Subsystem.During my professional career of 10+ years, I have participated in many spacecraft engineering projects. This includes the design and development of a mm-level accurate three-axis-translation mechanism to be installed in a vacuum chamber to investigate the plasma emissions of a Quad Confinement Thruster (Q.C.T) for it's thrust vectoring capabilities testing. In my Ph.D. thesis, I worked on the Design and Attitude Control of a Novel Spinning OctaSail Solar Sailcraft.
