I’m ready for a successful marketing and communications career! While earning my degree from Wichita State University, I have strengthened my critical thinking, problem-solving skills and writing. I've had work appear in newspapers and magazines. I have been awarded several academic scholarships and been placed on the Dean's Honor Roll. Service ConsultantScholfield Automotive Group 2008 - 2014Initially, I started as recon manager and worked closely with the used car manager. I organized all incoming new and used vehicles to have them inspected, repaired (in the case of used vehicles) and ready for the sales floor. Turnaround time for these vehicles varied, but timing was critical. The longer they stayed off the sales floor, the longer it took to make a profit from them. My primary responsibility was to move vehicles through the process as quickly as possible while making sure they were safe for the road. I also tracked all costs related to repairs. I was responsible for more than 50 vehicles each day. I spent my final four years as a service advisor working directly with customers and their vehicles. Time management, superior interpersonal communication and teamwork were important in the day-to-day operations for my position. I served as the intermediary between the customer and the technicians. It was important for the sake of efficiency and to ensure the job was done properly that I obtained the correct information from the customer. This meant asking probing questions and reading body language to gauge the customer’s demeanor. Working as a cohesive team made everyone’s job easier. The dealership is a fast-paced working environment; customers arriving with vehicles, phones ringing and dealing with sales staff are all common, everyday aspects of the job.This position was stressful and difficult, but it honed certain skills and introduced me to new skills which I can apply in my current field. Time management, attention to detail, communication skills and working within a team are all skills that benefit my current field of communications and marketing.
