I create content, review analytics and respond to inquires on all social media platforms. I write and edit material for all forms of communication with our residents; website, eNews, special publications. I research, write and submit grants for projects involving our organization. We’ve been awarded four grants and awards I’ve authored to date. I produce multimedia content to help promote our community and educate our residents.I am responsible for communication, organizing and tracking paver orders for our Veterans Memorial. I verify order information with customers, create an order list for our paver engraver, communicate to all parties involved the date and time of ceremonies and help lead paver-laying ceremonies.

I am responsible for all communications for the organization. Examples include, writing and distributing press releases for events or exhibits and researching and writing grant proposals. Most recently I created the layout and provided the content for our new website.I’ve submitted and been awarded grant monies for a couple projects. These grant monies allowed us to organize a free community health fair and another grant allowed us to create a series of signs that we have installed that will enrich patron’s experiences when they visit.I’m a team player and being affiliated with a small non-profit means doing a little bit of everything. Digging holes for sign posts, helping clean up after exhibit receptions or answering phones are examples of things that you may see me doing if and when needed. Building relationships is key to any position. I have enjoyed reaching out to the media and providing them with information about our events. Forming and nurturing relationships with media colleagues across the community is critical to our success. These relationships have also helped to secure media sponsorships for events.

Assist with the Team In Training campaign manager in organizing events, speaking with local business owners, and writing weekly newsletters sent to alumni.

Initially, I started as recon manager and worked closely with the used car manager. I organized all incoming new and used vehicles to have them inspected, repaired (in the case of used vehicles) and ready for the sales floor. Turnaround time for these vehicles varied, but timing was critical. The longer they stayed off the sales floor, the longer it took to make a profit from them. My primary responsibility was to move vehicles through the process as quickly as possible while making sure they were safe for the road. I also tracked all costs related to repairs. I was responsible for more than 50 vehicles each day. I spent my final four years as a service advisor working directly with customers and their vehicles. Time management, superior interpersonal communication and teamwork were important in the day-to-day operations for my position. I served as the intermediary between the customer and the technicians. It was important for the sake of efficiency and to ensure the job was done properly that I obtained the correct information from the customer. This meant asking probing questions and reading body language to gauge the customer’s demeanor. Working as a cohesive team made everyone’s job easier. The dealership is a fast-paced working environment; customers arriving with vehicles, phones ringing and dealing with sales staff are all common, everyday aspects of the job.This position was stressful and difficult, but it honed certain skills and introduced me to new skills which I can apply in my current field. Time management, attention to detail, communication skills and working within a team are all skills that benefit my current field of communications and marketing.

Work in a variety of roles during my time at Old Chicago. My roles at OC included server, bartender, front house trainer, shift leader, cooler duty and line and pizza cook.In addition to the eight years I spent there from 2000 to 2008, I also worked there from 2014 to late 2015. My time spent at OC gave me helpful insights into how the restaurant industry operates and I've also forged personal and professional relationships that will last a lifetime.
