There are two aspects to this role – the management of the production process, & the editing of content produced.Production Management: time-management on behalf of the author – scheduling periods of research, drafting, & refinement – with reference to deadlines.Intellectual Editing: sharpening the text’s clarity of argument, its structure, & its expression in language, proofreading, fact-checking & – in close discussion with the author – pursuing & interpolating further research paths to augment the central thesis by Socratic technique.Native language consultancy: while living & studying in southern France, developed contacts & collateral for an English translation service, allowing French businesses, public bodies, & individuals to better communicate with their Anglophone clients & tourists. Subsequent clients have included French NGOs.

A versatile, flexible editorial role in the startup phase of a new international subsidiary of France’s largest concierge & loyalty services provider. Full time then consulting basis.Editing & writing: content generation, editing, & quality control of all the company’s written output to create a professional brand-image & house style.Travel guide apps: responsible for drawing up a technical specification & a content template for a series of travel guide iPhone & iPad apps for visitors to the world's major historic destinations, including many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Subsequent translation, research, content generation, editing, & quality control responsibilities, co-ordinating a team of writers.Native language consultancy: building on my previous translation practise to translate & polish the parent company’s entire written output from French into English.French proficiency: being the only French speaker in the English office, providing a key linguistic link to our parent company, both orally & in written communication.Database development: design, construction, & troubleshooting of a new contact & supplier database suitable for concierge services in English, adapted from materials in French & in co-operation with a computing department based in Paris & working to French standards.
