About Meg Claypool
After teaching middle and high school mathematics for 10 years, both in the US and internationally, I decided to pursue my love of computers and embark on a second career in programing. I studied independently and then interned with the fabulous folks at Rootid for a year before graduating to full-time employee status.Working at Rootid I get to continue in my goal of making a positive difference with my work by making websites for non-profits š We use either Drupal or WordPress as the CMS backend for our sites, depending on client needs and preferences. Both use PHP on the backend, and we've set both up to use Twig as the templating language. We're working together with our designers on an ongoing basis to continually to evolve our component-based design and development process.All that said, it's becoming clear that Gutenberg is the future of page layout in WordPress, so we're also writing custom React components for Gutenberg. We're keenly interested in the possibility of integrating Gutenberg with Drupal, and watching the Gutenberg Module very closely! Although its views are fabulously powerful, the editing experience in Drupal could definitely use some improvement... Also, it would be fantastic if we could eventually have a common Gutenberg component library across both WordPress and Drupal.
