Self-employed Christian writer and motivational speaker. Meg Blaine Corrigan is a Christian author, energizing motivational speaker and experienced trainer. Her memoir, Then I Am Strong: Moving From My Mother’s Daughter to God’s Child, tells of her chaotic childhood with an alcoholic mother and co-dependent father. As a young adult, she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint, and then re-victimized by the unprofessional treatment she received from the law enforcement and medical communities. Megs’ book and her compelling talks give readers and listeners a view of her faith walk, which led her towards wholeness and balance following her traumatic experiences. In telling her own story, Meg especially stresses the need for trauma victims to be strong advocates for themselves as well as other victims when faced with hurtful situations. Meg also discusses the importance of drinking responsibly, as well as the dangers associated with binge drinking. She reviews mental health services available to her listeners, and how these types of services helped her in her darkest hour. In an effort to help reduce sexual violence in our society, Meg has held training sessions for law enforcement, medical personnel, pastors, parents and at-risk youth. She also speaks to church groups, students, book clubs, civic organizations and neighborhood gatherings.Meg holds a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of New Mexico. She has thirty-plus years of experience working with persons with chemical dependency issues, victims of domestic violence, war veterans, and other mental health issues.
