Acted as first official Volunteer Archivist for the EDCH. This included assessment, preservation, cataloguing, and digitization of records, photographs, legal documents, and architectural plans relating to the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home dating back to the society’s founding in 1883. As the first in the role, this included the establishment of procedure for all of these tasks for future volunteers. This role also led me to familiarize myself with EAD3 conventions.

Worked directly with magazine advertisers to secure or create designs for advertising space. Worked with the sales reps of publications to place all advertisements in accordance with client contracts, then prepared magazines for upload to press for physical printing and also for epublication. I also initially acted as sole digital uploader for the production department, and I later created a process manual for my coworkers and my successor showing proper procedure for magazine digitization and upload. This role relied heavily on clear communication and customer service, excellent task management and follow-through, and creative problem solving skills.

Technical troubleshooting role working with teachers and visiting academic presenters to ensure technology ran smoothly, both in the classroom and during major events. This involved lots of communication, troubleshooting knowledge, and quick problem-solving skills, especially in event settings.

Helped teacher and students in a university classroom setting for three different image-based courses. This required the ability to be on hand to help where needed to allow students achieve their goals within the class, from brainstorming and research suggestions, to directing student critiques. Also required a healthy knowledge of digital imagery troubleshooting, both in software and in equipment.

Digital asset delivery and customer service role. Worked directly with representatives of our two largest clients to create custom postcards and informational material for distribution. This role required keeping track of many simultaneous orders, and communicating with the in-house sales reps, our corporate contacts, and their employees to ensure that all needs were met within the constraints of the programs and to follow up on delivery of orders.
