I progress monitor the students and work with teachers to develop an individualized learning plan for struggling regular education students. These plans include modifications, accommodations, weekly assignment completion schedules and any other needed strategies to help the students succeed.I test incoming students and am part of the decision-making team for course placement and intervention assignment and tracking. I also am the Assistant to the School Assessment Coordinator. I help create the testing schedule, prepare the testing environment, ensure testing regulations are followed, coordinate make-up testing, prepare the test materials for the day of testing and train the test administrators. I provide the teachers with the data they need to make teaching decisions in their classrooms and advise them on strategic instructional practices based on the data. I run a weekly social/emotional group within the school. My additional responsibilites include preparing mini-classes on minimizing test anxiety, coordinating an anti-bullying program, re-enforcing Capturing Kids Hearts student and teacher interactions, and mediating student to student conflicts. I teacher conflict resolution, coping skills, emotional regulation exercises, and personal responsibility tools. I am a member of the grant writing and staff award nomination committees.For three years I served as the Lead Mentor for new teachers coming to work at the school. I have presented staff development classes on: effective instructional strategies, utilizing data in the classroom, and how to develop an effective school-wide RtI process. I have overseen budgets for committees and departments at the various schools I have worked for. Other duties include being a member of the School Steering Committee and School Accountability Committee.
