I just graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2018 with a BA and emphasis within the arts. While in college, I ran the Student Art Gallery (SAG) for my college campus. I managed weekly volunteer meetings, as well as art installations and deinstallations. I wanted the SAG to engage with a diverse student body and variety of talents, including art, open mics, live music, film, comedy, poetry, and experimental art, which took the form of 48 individual events over the course of two years. I was then hired as the College Activities Program Coordinator and organized the Fall Arts & Crafts Fair, as well as the Spring Arts & Crafts Fair which attracted many people from Olympia to The Evergreen State College. The Fall and Spring Arts & Crafts Fair had over 150 vendors that were either student, staff, faculty, or community members. I had to go to school part-time my third year in college and juggled three jobs until I was able to return as a full-time student. During this year, I worked as a gallery assistant for a prestigious Olympia gallery, Childhood's End Gallery. I learned the ins-and-outs of how the gallery operated. I also worked for the local non-profit theater, Harlequin Productions. While at Harlequin Productions I honed skills with sales and data entry. Both Childhood's End Gallery and Harlequin Productions are well-established and locally owned and operated successful small businesses that I was able to learn much about business while working there. When I returned to school full time, I got a work-study position at the local non-profit, YWCA of Olympia as a development associate. I created documents to raise funding for programs, including End of Year Appeal, the Annual Report, and other marketing/outreach documents and materials. I loved working at the YWCA of Olympia and their mission and the staff and the people the YWCA of Olympia serves. I currently work as a teacher for Thrive Art School working with ages 3-14 years old in the Seattle Area.
