There are many traits that describe me as an individual; however, I definitely feel as though my sense of adventure and understanding are reasons why I am such a compassionate person today. These qualities, along with five months of traveling throughout Europe and interning at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale, are just some of the things that have drawn me to working in human services to support people with many different challenges. These experiences have opened my eyes to try to understand the many different exceptionalities that people will be faced with. Without these traits, it would be nearly impossible to understand the world we live in, along with the people who live in certain communities. While traveling to countries such as Spain, Italy, Ireland, and France, I found that meeting multiple types of people is an experience that should be experienced by everyone who plans on working in this field. I want to continue to be that open-minded individual who works hard at providing positivity to those who need it. For these reasons, I plan on pursuing a career in Mental Health Counseling.
