As the Director and CEO of Native Events and Co-founder of Julie’s Bicycle Europe, I’m driven by a fascination of the connections between culture, creativity, and the natural sciences. My work spans from festival production to research in ecology, society, and systems thinking. Whether I’m speaking at events or curating Dublin City FM’s Green Room, I’m constantly exploring how we can create a more balanced relationship between our cultural values and our natural world.At Native Events, I am constantly inspired by my dedicated team, who are committed to driving environmental action across Ireland’s events, cultural and creative sectors. Our projects range from impactful research initiatives to on-the-ground sustainability practices, giving us a 360 perspective, all with a vision for lasting change.Julie’s Bicycle Europe, a collaboration with the UK-based Julie’s Bicycle, is where we mobilise creative climate action across Europe. We’re not just talking about change. We’re making it happen through practical programmes and deep-rooted partnerships that empower the cultural sector to lead on climate solutions.In 2022, my research on the slow adoption of nature-based approaches was published by the EPA’s Climate Change Advisory Council. More recently, I authored the Sustainable Festivals Guidelines for Fáilte Ireland, with further research on decarbonising Ireland's creative industries set to be released later this year.Through my work on The Green Room on Dublin City FM - Ireland’s longest-running radio programme dedicated to climate and environmental issues - I facilitate conversations that matter, spotlighting the leaders and thinkers who are shaping our collective response to the climate crisis.I’ve presented for Tourism NI, ADE Green, and Dublin City Council, and delivered workshops and keynotes for a wide range of clients and partners.
