Currently working in family medicine as a CCPA. Megan completed the Physician Assistant Education Program at McMaster University August 2016. She became a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant in October of 2016. Throughout her training clerkship she completed rotations in family medicine, paediatrics, emergency medicine, psychiatry, neurosurgery, internal medicine, maternal medicine, urgent care, general surgery, and paediatric surgery. Megan has completed her Master's program in Experimental Psychology with specialization in Neuroscience at the University of Ottawa. Her dissertation and research is primarily focused on various therapeutics and pharmaceuticals used for the treatment of ischemia, cardiac arrest, and stroke. Very familiar with all stages of research, including: literature searches, study development, research methods, behavioural testing, statistical analyses (SPSS), writing manuscripts for publishing, grant proposals and has presented her research at both national and international conferences. Well versed in numerous laboratory techniques, having several years experience in a scientific laboratory setting, including: immunohistochemistry, drug administration/testing, western blotting, microscopy, behavioural testing in animals, surgical procedures, cryostat tissue sectioning, tissue analyses, protein extraction, pharmaceutical administration, and safety protocols. Megan also has experience in office administration, including business side of sales, accounts receivable, accounts payable, marketing, social media networking and managing employees. Throughout her graduate studies she have been a Teaching Assistant for numerous Psychology and Neuroscience classes, including instructing an undergraduate laboratory in cognitive development. Megan is suitable to a leadership roles and has had experience managing others. Received Bachelor of Science with Honours in psychology in 2011, graduating with Magna Cum Laude.
