RootDown LA (RDLA) addresses obesity-related health issues in South Los Angeles by first convincing high school students to eat their veggies, then training them to cook, grow, promote, and distribute healthy food in their communities. These youth become advocates for food systems change, and leaders of their own Youth-driven Neighborhood Food Systems.

Provided individual, family, and group therapy for young adults managing various addiction, mental health, and educational or vocational challenges. Helped develop cohesive group programming that linked back to and supported clients' individual treatment goals.

Provided family, group, and individual therapy at a treatment center for adolescents struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Working in collaboration with a treatment team, helped identify treatment goals to address clients’ various symptoms and impairments relating to substance abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, mood disorders, and developmental trauma. Acting primarily as a family therapist, worked in concert with clients’ individual therapists to develop treatment plans.

Under supervision of Pathway’s Chief Mental Health Officer, worked primarily with Medical clients, providing therapy for youth and families. Developed detailed intake assessments and treatment plans for new clients, completing all paperwork and notes in compliance with stringent Medical standards and timelines. Helped facilitate parent communication trainings. Received year-long training in Trauma–focused CBT.

Facilitated group and individual therapy sessions for Vista Hills High Schools students, many of whom presented with symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and various social, emotional, and learning disabilities.

Worked with the non-profit Nextcourse and Pie Ranch to develop school, jail, and farm-based nutrition and culinary education programs. Supported adolescents and adults to develop healthier eating habits and to become more engaged in improving their food communities.

Developed more comprehensive marketing programs for magazine advertisers.
