My formative professional career was spent in emergent nations in East and West Africa, as well as parts of Southeast Asia conducting technical trainings that focused on maternal and child health and water sanitation programs. I worked on carbon-financing models for sustainable, household water-filtration projects. For the next 5 years, I transitioned from global initiatives to working on local, community-scale projects that promoted environmental stewardship and secure food futures in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. This background in community development, outreach & engagement, equity and land justice, and environmental planning led me to the pursuit of a master's degree in urban planning.As a recent graduate, I'm aspiring to work with emergency management, environmental justice, or economics planning projects, and have a penchant for working with data and spatial analysis. I'm passionate about relationship development, authentic and inclusive engagement, and in adapting to challenging situations to find a way through.
