I have both formal and informal leadership experience, including acting Executive Director of a non-profit human services agency, managing a team of care providers, and service on many boards and committees. In all of my jobs and volunteer positions, I have enjoyed building relationships with people. I believe communication and relationships are the foundation for success in our world. This is especially important when building support for a cause or program. I thrive in an environment where I can connect with people to find common vision and goals. I enjoy working with people to find shared experiences to build consensus and support for causes or work that is important. I am comfortable communicating with all people, from elected officials to children, and everyone in between. I find giving everyone a chance to make their voice heard goes a long way toward finding common ground, but I also have experience in navigating issues when common ground is difficult to find. My experience in health care, state government, and membership associations has provided me with opportunities to advocate for people, programs, and causes that are important to me.
