Ran the entire office; Many responsibilities including but not limited to: greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling, filing, faxing, copying, scanning, patient intake, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, insurance pre-certification, insurance contracts, coding and billing claims electronically through the clearinghouse or faxing/mailing hard copy HCFA’s to insurances who do not accept electronic claims filing (I brought the billing back in-house after having outsourced since the business opened), ordering stock/inventory/patient specific items, processing all incoming and outgoing mail, A/R & A/P, prosthetic tech work- assisting in patient evals and measurements, pouring up casts, cut off casts, making check sockets, helping laminate final prosthesis, have my own patient base that is composed of different types of ostomy patients and assist them with all of their ostomy supply needs, approving orders, making sure the office is maintained in a manner to meet Medicare compliance guidelines at all times, go out on sales meetings to other medical offices/hospitals in town to try and increase our ostomy patient volume, and so much more!
