About Megan M. Calvert

I am a passionate educator with a master's degreee and over 20 years of experience working in education as an instructional designer, teacher, tutor, teacher trainer, and curriculum writer. My areas of interest and expertise include Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (particularly English for Specific Purposes, task-based teaching, and pronunciation instruction), adult education, co-teaching, fundamentals of teaching, learning sciences, languages and linguistics, inclusive teaching, trauma-informed teaching and learning, and effective use of technology. My career includes five years of overseas work, domestic work in refugee resettlement, and experience facilitating professional development internationally. I have Microsoft Specialist and CompTIA A+ certifications, experience designing self-paced trainings (e-learning), and experience teaching and designing curriculum in fields such as medical, Information Technology, building trades, and hospitality.My current projects include leading the International Dialogue for Excellence in Academia community of practice, developing training for staff and faculty on use of plain language, designing and teaching Microsoft training courses, and hosting a popular book circle for faculty and staff.
