My ambitions are clear and direct: resist the effects of climate change by actively protecting and restoring wild areas. Not long into my career as a student of ecology, I lectured on mycology at the Unified Church of Toledo in April 2021. As a recipient of the PNW ISA Annual Training Conference Scholarship in September 2021, I was able to learn directly from Master Arborists the science of arboriculture in both wild and urban spaces. With a move from Ohio to Oregon and a fresh Associates of Environmental Science degree, I’m hoping to dive face-first into conservation work as I pursue my Bachelors degree from Oregon State University (admitted for Summer 2022).As a violinist, I played at Carnegie Hall, participated in the Chicago Midwest Clinic, and traveled the East Coast with the Lassiter Chamber Orchestra. As a student ambassador, I spent three weeks touring England’s, Ireland’s, and Wales’ historical and cultural monuments with People to People in 2005.
