    • Oversee all functions of the City’s Preservation program and represent the City’s Preservation program when meeting with stakeholders and vested agencies• Review plans for new construction, alterations, and demolitions and issue Certificates of Appropriateness, Certificates to Dig, and Certificates of Environment for all designated properties in the City• Prepare staff reports for HEPB meetings and manage the monthly HEPB meetings, presenting staff recommendations and providing technical guidance to Board members• Identify and oversee designation of new historic, archaeological, and environmental sites• Undertook a number of Special Projects, including:o Conducted all research, wrote designation report, and presented staff findings at both specially scheduled public hearings for the Miami Herald Building historic designation case, one of the most controversial and publicized preservation cases in Florida in recent years.o Streamlined the emerging Transfer of Development Rights program for historic properties, issuing the City’s first Certificate of Transfer in the program’s four-year history, and creating templates for the first Existing Conditions Report, Maintenance Plan Report, Restrictive Covenant, Performance Bond, and Certificate of Transfer.o Created a set of design guidelines for the Downtown National Register Historic District with input from the Downtown Development Authority.o Working closely with the State of Florida, Miami-Dade County, and the developer of the Met Square site to ensure that all archaeological agreements dating back to 2002 are fulfilled, and that all possible options for preservation of the site are explored.Award received while serving as Preservation Officer:- Distinguished Community Service by an Individual, Dade Heritage Trust
