Megan leads cross-organizational strategy and facilitates co-design to advance collective impact and influence the ecosystem to invest in and prioritize students with disabilities. She provides expert consulting to school systems, organizations, and funders across the country to break down silos and inequities that disproportionately impact students with disabilities. Megan drives all business and partnership development, focusing on a client base that has historically not prioritized disability in their equity work. Megan leads the external thought leadership for Anti-AbleistED, leading conference keynotes and sessions across the country, planning and facilitating communities of practice, and appearing on podcasts.Recent projects include:-supporting funder portfolio strategy to accelerate a commitment to students with disabilities-facilitating data-driven and community-driven racial equity planning for a large high school district-developing and implementing a district-wide logic model to address disproportionality-developing an implementation plan for improved instruction and transition planning for incarcerated individuals with disabilities-designing anti-racist, anti-ableist learning modules, tools, and assessments for a national organization-leading continuous improvement work with charter management organizations across the country-coaching school and district leaders around inclusive practices and systems planning-designing program content for a national organization that cultivates equity-centered school and district leaders

Megan led the planning, development, and delivery of external services and programs across the country. She managed a large and diverse portfolio of contracts and clients. Megan leveraged her extensive network of schools and organizations to build action in addressing educational inequities. She operated national coalitions and developed strategic partnerships with stakeholders at all levels of the system. Megan managed a diverse and dynamic team of internal staff and external consultants. She partnered with authorizers and state education departments on research, analysis, and the development of recommendations around policy and programming that improve current outcomes for students with disabilities.

Megan ensured over 200 NYC charter schools had the resources and support necessary to develop high-quality inclusive educational environments, promoting equity and access for all students. She executed a tiered membership model, developing and securing partnerships that met the unique needs of each school. Megan led internal strategic planning and managed the organizational budget and development plan. Through weekly schools visits, staff development, and city-wide workshops, Megan guaranteed schools had access to ongoing coaching and capacity-building opportunities. Megan worked to align schools’ needs and wants with programming that strengthens practices around inclusion and equity. She convened school leaders and educators to increase opportunities for cross-school collaboration and partnership. She also worked closely with the district to advocate for high-quality services and timely evaluations for students with disabilities in charter schools. Megan programmed over 80 workshops and events for NYC schools each semester and planned and facilitated large education conferences. She also presented workshops and speaks to education leaders nationally.

Megan provided onsite training, coaching, and support to schools and design/led city-wide trainings. She managed member schools relationships and led collaboration that supported schools’ efforts to strengthen and grow their inclusive education programs.

Megan worked to ensure that all students with disabilities had access to high-quality instruction and received appropriate services to support them in achieving success. Megan supported families through advocacy and meaningful partnerships. Megan managed and coached a full team of special education teachers and related service providers. She collaborated with teachers and supported staff to promote an inclusive environment. Megan led professional development and coached staff, and supported to overall school design to support all students academically and socially. Megan worked closely with the NYCDOE to ensure that students received their services and to ensure the schools compliance with local and federal special education laws. Best of all, Megan worked with students to ensure they had rigorous and meaningful learning experiences that fostered independence and self-worth.

Megan taught in elementary self-contained and co-teaching classrooms. In addition to teaching, Megan led curriculum mapping, Common Core aligned planning, and professional development for all staff on Project Based Learning and Emotionally Responsive Practice. Megan was a member of the school data inquiry team and a grade leader. Megan was involved in planning family literacy nights and social studies celebrations. She ran a photography and comic book club. She was also the inaugural girls basketball coach and assistant coach for the boys team.
