I started my own business called Smart Strokes after having taught swimming lessons for over 10 years. I teach private and semi-private swim lessons to anyone who wants to learn how to swim or improve their swimming technique. Lessons are taught one-on-one or in a small group setting in the privacy of our in-ground pool.In addition, I work with children who have mental or developmental delays, sensory integration issues or other special needs. Through aquatic therapy and individualized lessons, children are able to learn a vital life skill while receiving one-on-one therapy in the water.Smart Strokes is a program that was developed for people of all ages and abilities, especially for those who might struggle learning to swim in a public setting with traditional lessons and/or methods.In short, the goal and my philosophy of Smart Strokes is to turn any child or adult into a confident and independent swimmer, no matter what their situation or condition is.

I worked as a personal care assistant for a man who had been in a bad car accident that resulted in spinal injuries causing paralysis from the sternum down.
