As a Publicity Intern at Minotaur Books (Macmillan), I am gaining hands-on experience in book publicity while working closely with a team of publishing professionals. In this role, I draft press releases, media pitches, and galley letters that align with brand standards, ensuring our messaging is both clear and impactful.To enhance our outreach efforts, I also update the media contact database, facilitating smooth communication with journalists and reviewers. I monitor media coverage, compile press clippings, and track the effectiveness of our PR efforts, providing insights into our strategies. Additionally, I conduct research on comparison titles and audience demographics to inform our publicity efforts. My responsibilities also include coordinating the shipment of galleys and ARCs to media outlets and reviewers, which supports our early publicity initiatives. This internship has provided me with valuable opportunities to enhance my skills in communication, research, and project coordination within the publishing industry. I am excited to be contributing to the launch of Minotaur’s mystery and thriller books!
