A creative and analytical professional with a proven track record of combining strategic and tactical financial expertise with strong qualifications in operations and P&L management.Working in diverse industries and with multi-generational teams, I have learned it is not about who speaks first or loudest. Listening is the most powerful form of communication. I have learned to defuse heated situations and move teams past what would seem like insurmountable problems. When issues become tough I look to bring understanding, openness, and a sense of humour to the table. At the end of the day, it is never about the mistake made but the lesson that can be learned. Besides my sense of loyalty, is an insatiable drive to solve complex problems. I love looking at things that most people would want to walk away from. Data and processes that seem so messy that they can’t possibly make sense. I see them and can’t help but think about how to improve them. How to innovate and simplify.Ironically these skills have helped me grow in my career and my family. I love spending time with my husband and 10 year old son, both of which keep me grounded and remembering to listen more.Currently, Megan is the Director of Operations at Grant Thornton Canada.
