Storytelling and content marketing is something I've admired and spent free time practicing since I was little. It can span several media in different forms, but it has a job to do and what's at the heart of that job is where I find myself: the story. My skills will always be growing because storytelling changes constantly to remain relevant to its audiences. I most enjoy involvement in the discovery of the story behind a message, the research into its wheels and cogs, the message development process from conception to execution, the perception of its living form and the infinite possibility of rebirth toward its best and brightest form. I'm good at "failing forward," meaning that to be bold and confident means learning what not to do along the way. I have worked for businesses in their infant stages, which has allowed me to think big with small resources. I also have the pleasure of working for a large, growing company headquartered in my own hometown that has expanded my appreciation for the most important resource of all: a great team. I have learned that there is more than just one bottom line in business and in life, and that working for a company and a cause you believe in makes all the difference. My favorite story to tell beyond my day job bakes between 325 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, comes in many flavors and lives in the wedding industry: the wedding cake. I fell in love with cake decorating and wedding consulting unexpectedly in college because of their creative roles in a larger, life-long story. When I'm not wearing my marketing hat, I'm wearing an apron.
