I've always had a knack for learning. It started when I was 7 years old and wanted to learn an instrument. But of course, I could not pick just one; I picked three. It started with the piano, expanded to the drums, and culminated at the clarinet. By this point, I could be a one-woman band. After learning all the music theory, it was time to get physical…by joining the marching band! Those were some of the best years of my life--performing music for large crowds while being one of many players forming shapes on the field.Once it was time to choose my college major, I took a shot in the dark with Computer Science and I loved it! Once again, I could not pick just software or hardware; I wanted to learn both. After all, the possibilities of interfacing them together are endless! After learning strong fundamentals in software and hardware, I took on roles to contribute to my college community. There, I found my passion for leadership. I then realized I wanted to be a technical leader throughout my career, so I completed a Technology Management minor. After all, being able to look at a problem through both a developers’ and business leaders’ viewpoint was a lethal combination that I wanted to have. At this point, I had learned a tremendous amount but wanted to provide others the foundation to learn as well. That is when I co-founded SacHacks, Sacramento’s first major intercollegiate hackathon. The idea came about when I realized that our state's capital hadn’t provided its students the opportunity to meet on a large scale and create projects that could change the world. Also, students did not have the financial means to gain access to and learn about up and coming technologies. Now, this just would not do; so, I brought it all to them. At SacHacks, students from all over the globe could work with VR/AR, Blockchain, Machine Learning, and even develop on a Tesla! Once I graduated from college, I became involved in and learned every stage of the software development cycle at Texas Instruments. Then, I challenged the status quo by automating test framework generations, optimizing legacy code, and organizing the site’s first holiday celebration in 15 years. Now, I am onto the next big learning opportunity: learning about you! Let’s connect and continue to learn together.
