Dr. Megan Covington is the Founder and CEO of The Pit Bull Doctor (formerly Atlanta Pit Bull Training), a consulting company that seeks to address social issues faced by pit bull owners through pit bull behavior consulting, housing advocacy, and public access advocacy. Dr. Megan comes from a decade-long career in equity research with a research agenda focused on Black women in the higher education workplace. Currently, Dr. Covington applies her research, writing, and thought leadership to advocating for equity and social justice in the fields of animal welfare, nonprofit sector, and higher education. Dr. Megan’s passion for equity comes from her long history of personal and community experiences with the systemic challenges related to housing discrimination, disability and service animal rights, and breed-specific laws and policies.
