ABCi is a charity aiming to promote the teaching of English in Austria through active learning and project work. I am worked as an EFL teacher in schools and online using a virtual classroom.I attended weekly seminars and training sessions on pedagogy and learning philosophies, such as active learning. Developed and supported colleagues through peer training, observation and feedback.

I worked in various roles across Kent, communicating effectively between the workplace and agency. This role developed my ability to quickly integrate myself into a team of people and learn new skills swiftly.

I have had continued contractual employment over a number of years with this organisation in other roles and in summer 2014 received training in teaching English.I built good relationships with students to encourage and support language acquisition using positive feedback and spot corrections on grammar, pronunciation and communication points. I used the international language levels to assess students whilst monitoring and recording their progress.

Frontier Services supports people living in remote parts of Australia. I worked on a cattle station, in the heart of Queensland’s “Outback” using a virtual classroom as part of the “School of the Air” programme whilst motivating and inspiring two socially isolated and academically despondent children.The role required excellent communication skills, flexibility and an empathetic approach to inspire confidence and engagement with the children and parents.

A large and remote sheep station in rural NSW. The role involved working with a group of culturally very different people, maintaining strong group ties and morale. I assisted in the mustering and tagging of sheep.I worked to a tight deadline, under constantly changing conditions to meet the needs of my employer as well as swiftly learning new skills "on the job".

An innovative scheme dedicated in advancing inclusive activities for children with physical and intellectual impairments. I worked with a team of specialised practitioners, to break down social and emotional barriers between SEN and Non-SEN children.This role required an understanding and sensitivity too, of children with different emotional needs, and their parents.

Let’s Get Out delivers extra-curricular activities, across the Kent area, focused on inspiring confidence in children and aiding transition between Primary and Secondary school. This role has seen me invest in a long term commitment; I started as an activity leader when it was a pilot scheme and have returned in subsequent years, most recently in a teaching capacityI managed a team to deliver science "tasters" and worked as a team to lead sports based activities actively encouraging inclusion and working on children's personal development.

Merchants Academy is a challenging but progressive mainstream secondary school in Bristol. I worked across departments to assist in raising GCSE attainment of the school by 17%.I used data to inform my planning and student/parent feedback. This role required innovative teaching techniques and behaviour management strategies, such as using pictorial aids to allow students to self-assess their own emotional state. Continuous professional development and excellent communication skills to work with students, parents and management were also vital to this role. I was able to implement self-conducted research findings, from my training, to aid in promoting self-directed learning and parental development.
