I am a seasoned higher education professional with over 20 years’ experience in teaching, research, and writing, and over 8 years of experience in academic administration, who maintains an uncompromising commitment to excellence. A dedicated servant-leader, I support and coach my teams and clients to reach their full potential. As a proven strategist and entrepreneur, I have a zest for solving complex problems and using design and research skills to create streamlined systems that save time and effort and reduce cost. As an academic writer, I have published a number of peer-reviewed academic articles, as well as blogs for interested non-specialists through the Medieval Studies Research Blog (https://sites.nd.edu/manuscript-studies/), which I also direct. My book-in-progress, "'Curteise ert e enseigné': English Laywomen’s Learning and Literacy and the Ancrene Wisse in the Thirteenth Century," examines the little-addressed question of the literary education of lay women in the high Middle Ages in England (c.1066–1300), and to what ends they used that literacy. This examination is driven by textual and codicological analysis that focuses primarily on the well-known vernacular devotional text Ancrene Wisse (composed c.1225) and its earliest manuscripts—Nero in particular, with comparison to the other early manuscripts of Titus, Cleopatra, and Corpus—which were written explicitly for thirteenth-century English laywomen. I have enthusiastically taught many courses on English composition, languages, and literatures at the college and university level and I love to receive invitations to speak on my passions: book history, medieval women's literacy and learning, project and time management, and humane productivity. I love to coach on all of these subjects as well, and whether I am helping a coaching client develop a mission statement to launch his not-for-profit animal therapy ranch or outlining a roadmap to dissertation completion with a graduate student, I am passionate about helping people use writing and good design to reach their goals and tell their stories.
