My role at British Cycling of Community Groups Development Officer, focussed on supporting our community groups within British Cycling, as well as offering support and guidance to those groups who were interested in affiliating with us. One of my main projects was based around our Let's Ride platform. This included looking after the community groups who utilised the platform, as well as introducing new groups and providing support where needed. I also played a part in our Let's Ride Through Winter campaign, which was a friendly distance based competition to encourage as many people as possible to cycle during the winter months, with multiple prizes up for grabs throughout. We implemented different ways of gaining mileage in order to make it accessible to everyone. During this role, I also led on the community groups marketing, including our Community Groups Newsletter. This went out monthly to keep our groups up to date with important information, as well as key dates and opportunities for them to get involved in British Cycling initiatives and events.

My role at British Cycling of Clubs & Groups Development Officer, focussed on supporting our cycling clubs and groups within British Cycling, as well as offering support and guidance to those clubs who were interested in affiliating with us. One of my main projects was providing appropriate clubs and groups with funding opportunities to support the development of their organisations, allowing them to reach wider communities and welcome in new participants and members. This was in partnership with Sport England and we allocated over £100,000 to our clubs and groups. Examples of how this has helped our clubs and groups include; new bike fleets; safety equipment (helmets, bike maintenance kits, first aid kits); and opportunities to put volunteers and coaches through courses.

My role at Active Sefton focussed on increasing recreational participation and inclusivity in the local community. I designed and ran programmes, including Couch To 5K, Be Active, Active Buggies and Active Through Football. In this role, I primarily focused on planning, developing, promoting, delivering and monitoring community sport and physical activity programmes. I was also involved in the marketing and social media at Active Sefton, creating promotional materials and running all social media accounts.

As a member of Triathlon England's Youth Forum; I gave advice to Triathlon England on how to engage effectively with young people; I represented Triathlon England at events and worked in partnership with Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon; I collectively planned and delivered youth led events on behalf of BTF; and I recruited and inducted future members.

My role at Edge Hill University consisted of organising and scheduling the competitive BUCS fixtures for all University sports teams, dealing with; pitch, coach and match official bookings; home and away sports fixtures; communication with other institutions; University events; Varsity; student inquiries; and all marketing/social media material. Working in a University environment has really helped me to understand exactly how sports and activities are organised and executed and has given me the experience needed to progress in this field.

My role at NCS consisted of being the Team Mentor for a wave of young people between the ages of 15-17. I provided pastoral care to a group of 12, overseeing; health and safety; behaviour management; and programme coordination. I worked alongside a programme manager and a pastoral care lead in order to deliver the programme.

My role was to run the Summer of Sport program at Speke Hall between July and the end of September. This program involved providing the local community with the opportunity to participate in a range of different sports in a beautiful, outdoor location throughout the summer months. I coached a selection of sports including; football, badminton, volleyball, rounders, cricket, archery and tennis. My aim in this role was to provide participants with a fun and engaging environment and to motivate them to get involved in sport. I was also a part of the Game On event that was hosted at Speke Hall, which was supported by Sport England. My role for this event was to plan, organise sports and coaches, recruit and manage volunteers and supervise the three day event. In addition, until the end of November, I was in charge of the Trust 10km runs on Sunday mornings. This involved setting out the 10km route, managing volunteers, briefing the runners and packing up.
