After 15 years I closed a chapter in my life as a food blogger. I owned and operated www.TheseThingsILove.com, a website and blog devoted to all the things I hold dear. Formerly a food blog called www.TheGlutenFreeVegan.com, a website centered on the gluten-free and vegan lifestyles where I create and post healthy and allergy-friendly recipes for all to enjoy, I expanded my scope to include other topics in addition to food and drink such as fashion and beauty, health and fitness, travel and family life. Blogging was a joy and a passion and I'm thankful for my following for the past 15 years.

I was brought on as Marketing Manager to assist Denovo in developing and executing a solid marketing strategy as the business continues to grow across Western Canada. I was responsible for crafting cohesive marketing campaigns to help drive sales and brand awareness. This included marketing pieces for radio, web, magazine and other print, as well as social media and blogging. I also took the lead in coordinating events such as trade shows and client events.

In this role, I continued with previous tasks of Copywriter/Content Developer with additional responsibilities including social media management. I was responsible for all aspects of communication with current and potential clients and third-party vendors. I assisted in crafting and distributing press releases and corporate announcements. I worked closely with the Business Development and Marketing teams to provide content support for promotions, sales, and events.

I took some time off secular work to focus on volunteer efforts using my skills and fluency in American Sign Language working with underprivileged Deaf individuals in the Dominican Republic.I taught ASL and a variety of subjects to Deaf ones and their families.

My primary responsibilities in this role were to create original content and perform copywriting duties for a variety of marketing and advertising materials both online and in print. I was Editor of a monthly newsletter which was distributed to over 250,000 subscribers. Additionally, I was the primary contributor and editor of the corporate blog. I proof-read, created and managed campaign email content. I worked closely with the Development Team to maintain proper wording consistency in messaging for User Experience.

I delivered client support via email, telephone, and online communities. I was responsible for technical writing of FAQ’s, support documentation for User Manual, and marketing articles for monthly newsletter.
