The Ryerson Make Shape Change Conference was the first conference out of the the Faculty of Communication and Design - aiming to bring together creative minds and acts as a primer for entering the communication and design industries. My responsibilities included:• Contacting, securing and directing our keynote speakers, workshop presenters and case competition judges for the case competition. Our lineup for our first year included: Claire Hopkinson (Director and CEO, the Toronto Arts Council), Aislinn Rose (General Manager, the Theatre Centre), Valerie Fox (previous Executive Director, the Digital Media Zone), Steven Ehrlick (assistant professor, RTA School of Media), Daniela Syrovy (Founder and CEO, clutchPR), Julie Smithson (Co-founder, SmithsonMartin Inc.), Elizabeth Semmelhack (Senior Curator, the Bata Shoe Museum), Scott Campbell (Director of Communications, HBO Canada and the Movie Network), Lindsay Ellerby (Design Director, Normative), Vanja Vasic (Executive Director, Fashion Art Toronto), Taymoore Balbaa (assistant professor, School of Interior Design) - also the former President of Ryerson University, Sheldon Levy • Managing the budget of $60,000• Vendor Management (Eaton Chelsea Hotel and One King West Hotel)• Developing the conference strategy, schedule, and delegate and volunteer recruitment process• Managing production and logistics• Conference marketing• Developing a unique case competition• Managing a group of 40 volunteers, running volunteer orientation• Selecting a group of 70 delegates
