Megan Smith, M.Ed. (she/her/hers), works at Amazon as the head of People Accessibility and serves as an advisor to the AmazonPWD affinity group.Megan is an advocate and leader in disability inclusion and accessibility. As a blind woman, she values deep connection with the disability community and using her voice to amplify the importance of accessibility and inclusion. For more than a decade, Megan has influenced customer experiences, disability services, accessibility, and diversity programs in the health care, education, employment, and technology industries. She holds a Master of Education in Disability Services and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Public Health and focuses her work on influencing how businesses engage with diverse populations. Megan is particularly passionate about leading change in global access to health care and employment of people with disabilities and is currently responsible for ensuring an accessible and inclusive candidate and employee experience at Amazon. Described by a previous CEO as having “chutzpah”, Megan relishes in the difficult conversations, the “aha” moments, and the hard work that follows to drive organizational change that results in more inclusive employee and customer experiences.
