Fellow at EPA's Center for Emergency Solutions and Environmental Response. Our team is focused on metal and biological drinking water contaminants. In this role I:Analyzed and interpreted Lead and Copper Rule changes for water engineers and general audiences.Initiated research assessing climate impacts on drinking water infrastructure; currently reviewing for publication. Coordinated, ran, and documented interviews with external partners to incorporate field experiences in our research.

Lead development of R scripts to generate 70+ reports that analyzed and visualized datasets from ECHO with a team of data scientists, designers, and volunteers.

Developed informational presentations on the federal environmental legislation based on partners’ needs. Coordinated with community partners to plan and execute 3 community events.

Collaborate across the UNC school system to increase education and action around the UNC System's investment structure.

Designed and taught an experiential course with 12 undergraduate students on the intersections of climate change, science communication, and psychology.

International Research Experiences for Undergraduates: NSF-funded project monitoring water-carbon cycle interactions in headwater tropical streams near Quito, Ecuador (Principal Investigator:  Dr. Diego Riveros-Iregui, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) We collected greenhouse gas flux measurements in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems using an array of infrared gas analyzers (Vaisala, Eosense, Flux Chambers). We also collected and processed water flux and water quality measurements (stage, discharge, dissolved oxygen, specific conductance) from tropical wetlands and streams using HOBOware and YSI hardware. Our team conducted a year-long data analysis that resulted in academic publication (linked below).

UNC is an official observer organization to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). I served as the head of the UNC delegation at the Bonn Climate Change Conference in June 2019 and at COP 25 in Madrid in December. In this role I organized and lead other UNC students to attend and be successful in navigating COP 25. Additionally, I was the actions coordinator for YOUNGO, the official youth constituency to the UNFCCC. In this roll I coordinated with youth from around the world to organize actions and intervene in negotiations.

On this committee of professors and past recipients of University Teaching Awards I represented undergraduate voice as we selected the recipient of the University's Mentorship Teaching Award. In this role I sought to center the perspective of undergraduate students in considering nominees for this award via application selection and interview processes.

Alongside my co-chair, I lead a committee of students to increase the cohesion of environmental efforts across Carolina and push the administration to improve environmental outcomes and commitments. In this role, I acted as a liaison between student environmental organizations and initiatives and UNC administration.

A messaging-based platform which connects students early in the college admissions process to college students that just completed the process. Myself and my two co-founders were awarded $10,000 from the 4.0 Schools Tiny Fellowship for seed funding and were a 2019 Kenan-Biddle Partnership Grantee.

The Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) is an intergovernmental organization that pioneers Pacific leadership to promote the blue-green economy, multi-stakeholder governance, and genuine Pacific Partnership. As an intern I worked within the program management team and coordinated frequently with the program manager to develop independent projects. This included organizing all climate-related work of the organization and establishing materials for climate change presentations, developing partnerships for the promotion of the seaweed and bamboo industry in Fiji, and seeking grants for a partnership with a solar energy organization.

As a SAT intern I worked between the test farm and office in Morogoro, communicating primarily in Kiswahili and English. In living at the farm and being involved in youth economic empowerment trainings, I developed a framework to evaluate youth trainings of local farmers in the region.

Collected and organized research surrounding coastal flood insurance using LexisNexis, including information for the Professor Don Hornstein's upcoming book.
