In 2016 I set up my own dog grooming business where I rented a table inside an already established grooming salon. In 2019 I moved to my own premises and rebranded my business. Having only been open for a few months before Covid-19 hit, once safe to do so, I continued to trade and had my most profitable year to date. My role included front of house, client relations, customer satisfaction, social media management, marketing, admin, finance management and taxes, inventory management, running day to day operations, general maintenance and event planning. Although dog grooming has been my main career choice for many years, I have a variety of transferable skills.

I joined Pets at Home as an experienced stylist. Within my first year I was promoted to salon manager and stayed in that position two years, managing a team of up to 5 people. This role involved organising monthly rotas, dealing with customer satisfaction, cashing up the till, ordering salon supplies, dealing with maintenance issues, answering phone calls, booking in appointments, organising events, preparing displays, and leafleting. My role also included being involved in recruitment and hiring, staff training up to City & Guilds standard. During my time as salon manager i won multiple awards for best salon in the area and highest grooming related takings. During my time as manager, I won numerous awards both within the store and wider areas of the company for my management role, best salon in the area and highest dog grooming related takings.
