I teach Introduction to Women and Gender Studies and #MeToo: Activism and Our Lives at Clemson. I also serve on a national #MeToo Teaching Collective. This course has been offered in-person and been converted to online options as well.I have also taught Introduction to Women and Gender Studies. I pride myself on creating engaging ways to connect material to the students. I created and spearhead the first interpersonal violence education and prevention program forClemson University which is ranked the 24th best national public university by U.S. News &World Report and home to approximately 28,000 faculty, staff and students.Specifically, I coordinate Title IX and sexual assault prevention trainings for students, faculty and staffeach semester. Additionally, in collaboration with my nine graduate and undergraduate studentstaff, we put on 65 special events and student programs each year.☆ One of our most notable events was inviting and hosting the 47th Vice President of the UnitedStates, Joe Biden, to campus. ☆As one of my staff members poignantly remarked of our work, we haven’t just put on events, but“we’ve built a movement.”To further engage the campus in such important conversation, I wrote, won and managed a $10kgrant from The Avon Foundation to create and implement an organizational structure foradditional staff.In addition to my work on campus, I also deliver presentations nationally. I oversaw the Office of Campus Activities for Hartwick, a liberal arts and sciences college forapproximately 1,500 undergraduate students. I had my hand in large campus events, studentconduct processes and the management of over 70 student organizations.When I wasn’t working with student leaders, I was nurturing my full-time and student staff. Idirected two search committees for my office which included creating the role and recruiting,interviewing, hiring and onboarding both staff members.During my tenure, I am most proud of being appointed project manager by the college presidentfor a $4.2 million-dollar campus construction project. I had no construction experience prior tothe project, but I’ve always been open to trying new things and learning as I go.I led a six-person steering committee with senior leaders and campus staff directingadministrative tasks and committee collaboration. I was recruited to join NYU’s global network university because of my success in developingundergraduate student leaders and campus programming. The brand-new campus in Abu Dhabienrolled approximately 200 students in its first year from about 40 different countries.The students and I worked together to form their student government and campus programmingto create meaningful experiences that were also culturally respectful.Besides building the student life program from the ground up, I also developed the originalsystems, processes and policies for student conduct, funding and for 25 student organizations.This experience challenged me in the best possible way. I saw the beautiful work of students andstaff who think differently work together to discover and implement respectful ways to addressstudent needs. I developed a tremendous amount of cultural competency in this role that stillinfluences my work today.

As Assistant Director within the Center for Women and Gender and the Office of Pluralism andLeadership, I addressed gender inequities, sexual assault, and intersections of individual andcultural identity through center programming and campus workshops. Additionally, I providedsupport to historically under-represented students, students in campus conduct hearings andindividuals in crises. I intentionally collaborated with campus colleagues in multiculturaleducation, leadership development, community service, and professional development.In this role, I was proud to shine a light on data collection issues across Ivy League schools inregard to sexual violence and assault. After compiling and analyzing data from Dartmouth andother Ivy League campuses, we were able to design programs to address these issues on ourcampus in addition to providing a report with proposed solutions to our college president.My legacy left is an empowered campus environment.
